Jill McCorkle

Jill McCorkle is the author of the novels, July 7th, Ferris Beach, The Cheer Leader, and Tending To Virginia, and the story collections, Going Away Shoes, Final Vinyl Days, and Crash Diet. Her stories have appeared in The Atlantic, Ploughshares, Oxford American, Southern Review and Bomb Magazine, among others. McCorkle has received the New England Book Award, The John Dos Passos Prize for Excellence in Literature and the North Carolina Award for Literature. Her essays and reviews have appeared in The New York Times Books Review and The Washington Post, among many others.
