Writers at Newark Reading Series- Undergraduate Colloquium
The Writers At Newark Reading Series Colloquium (English 62:350:203 - Fall, 62:350:204 - Spring) will
grant 1 credit hour, pass/fail, to undergraduate students who commit to
reading at least four books from the Writers At Newark readings list (one
book per event), attend four scheduled events in the Reading Series, and
write four short responses to the readings/books each semester.
Students will check in with the MFA Program Coordinator before each reading
at Paul Robeson Gallery, attend the reading, and email a short response
to one of the TA’s or Teaching Fellows in the MFA Program. Students
will read one book per event before the reading, hear the writer read from
the work, and have a chance to ask questions.
Writers At Newark readings include fiction, nonfiction and poetry readings
by a diverse group of nationally known writers. Those undergraduates signed
up for the Colloquium will be invited to liaison with the MFA Program at other informal and formal
events, such as the student MFA reading series.
